Endurance racing involves long distance events in UK but also in mainland Europe, with high profile circuits such as Spa, Nurburgring and Le Mans appearing on the calendar. WORLD
TOURING CAR CHAMPIONSHIP (WTCC)
The WTCC is the leading mainland European Touring Car championship, with official representation from major marques such as Alfa Romeo, Seat and BMW. BRITISH
TOURING CAR CHAMPIONSHIP (BTCC)
This is the premier saloon car championship in the UK, with a large fan base and excellent terrestrial and satellite TV coverage. A range of powerful production-based cars compete in two classes, with double-race events across the UK and Ireland between March and September. This category covers saloon car championships which support the BTCC, such as the Elf Clio Renaultsport UK Cup or the Seat Cupra Championship. These series are contested by aspiring top drivers and represent great value for money as they benefit from the BTTC crowds and TV coverage. One-make racing in the UK is growing in popularity, as drivers and sponsors search for good-value categories which still offer competitive, close racing at a high level.
